Compiler/CC2540: CC2540 & CC2541

Part Number: CC2540
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541,

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

1. In cc2540 host test release project, there are many options. I am wondering what is differences? Is there function description document?

 --> CC2540USB, CC2540EM, CC2540EM-SBL,CC2540EM-EBL,CC2540USB-UBL ... etc

2. What is functional difference with "BTooL" and "Smart RF sniffer"?

--> In my understanding, btool can scan and connect cc2540 and cc2541 with bluetooth connection, and RF sniffer can display received data packet . Is it correct?

3.Can I use those two applications(BTool, RF Sniffer) at the same time, using cc2540 usb dongle?

Is there officially offered "hex file" which can operate two application at the same time?

4. what is difference with sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb and sniffer_fw_cc2540_uart and sniffer_fw_cc2540 ??

Thanks,

  • 1. Those are for different TI EVB, CC2540EMK-USB and CC2540EM + SmartRF05EB, to run without or with serial bootloader.

    2. BTool can work with HostTest to connect to another CC254x or other BLE device. Packet sniffer is for you to do BLE packet sniffing when you test BLE protocol.

    3. You have to use two CC2540 USB dongle, one for BTool and another for packet sniffer.

    4. Those are for different TI EVB, CC2540EMK-USB and CC2540EM + SmartRF05EB
