CC2500: What is the maximum number of loads this device supports?

Part Number: CC2500

Hi team

Could you help check what is the maximum number of loads this device supports? My customer wants to know can CC2500 support 300 nodes? Thank you.

  • Hi Shawn,

The CC2500 is a transceiver, therefore it communicates all 2.4 GHz radio communications to a host processor.  It does not have any memory to store node information and has 64- byte transmit/receive FIFOs.  Unless the network traffic overflows the FIFOs (error states which can be observed and further handled) the number of nodes supported depends on the capabilities of the host which is handling the RF packets.  Note that it is a proprietary radio for which there is not a BLE/IEEE MAC/PHY supported.

    Regards,
    Ryan
