CC8521: Can MCU on board of CC8521 be used as slave?

Part Number: CC8521

Hi,

A customer of mine would like to know if the CC8521 has a MCU on board that can be used as slave?

To control multiple devices that are connected.

Can the MCU be used for Closed SDK?

Thank you.

  • Hi

Not sure I understand. Do they want to write their own application on the CC8521? What is Closed SDK?

The CC8521 The CC85xx device family is based on firmware running from on-chip flash memory. The CC85xx is delivered from Texas Instruments with unprogrammed flash memory, and you can use the PurePath Wireless Configurator to generate firmware and program it into the CC85xx. The software generation process is done using pre-compiled firmware images, which are delivered with the Configurator in an image database. No compiler, linker or other third-party tools are needed. Based on the settings in a device configuration, the Configurator will select the correct image from the database and patch sections of it to define detailed device behavior. The resulting image can then be programmed directly into a CC85xx device using the Texas Instruments CCDebugger, or be saved to file.
