TIDC-CC3200SMARTPLUG: Inquiry about TIDC-CC3200SMARTPLUG

Part Number: TIDC-CC3200SMARTPLUG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200, CC3200SDK

Hi,

A customer company is developing SMART PLUG using CC3200.

In this regard, the following inquiries have been received and we ask for help.

The progress of smart plug development of the customer is as follows.

1. I uploaded the CC3200SDK version _1.5.0 to the CC3200 device and checked the connection with the AP.

2. I have uploaded the CC3200Smartplug_1.0.0 version and the SimpleLink Smart Plug V3 version on the phone, and the test is in progress.

We would like to inform you of the progress related to this and ask for answers to your problems.

1. App accounts provided by TI are not registered.

Due to the interruption of TI Cloud service, we are proceeding locally.

2. In order to register as Local, you need to inform the device about AP information, but I don't know how to transmit it in SimpleLink Smart Plug V3.

-When cc3200SmartPlug_1.0.0 version is uploaded to the device, the Blue LED slowly blinks.

-To proceed to the Smart Config mode, I tested by pressing the Provisioning button for 1~3 seconds to change to the Smart Config mode.

-In conclusion, the blue LED flashes at a high speed and does not proceed any further.

The contents of the related exam are as follows.

I used mDNS Search to proceed, but the device was not found.

Is there anything wrong with the above progress?

If there is a part that needs to be modified, please comment.

3. In order to manually connect from the App, I set in AddDevice and proceeded, but it does not proceed.

To proceed manually, I entered the Device Name Smartplug in Add Device.

-Enter the serial number of CC3200's Mac Adderss

-Enter 192.168.1.54 for Local Connection Address

-(Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1 SSID: ZeroEN Password: zeroen0213)

In this regard, the CC3200Smartplug_1.0.0 version source is an executable file, so we cannot send it to you.

The URL and Design Guide referenced by us are the link materials below.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

The reference software for that TI design has not been updated, so I am not sure about the state of the demo app. I suggest trying SmartConfig using our provisioning app Wi-Fi Starter Pro.

If the CC3200 is in AP mode, they should also be able to connect to the device's AP network and set the profile from the HTTP server. See the Provisioning AP Mode section 7.3 of the CC3200 user's guide.

The full source of the device application and mobile application are available in the src folder of the same software package with the pre-built executables.

    Best regards,

    Sarah
