Hi,

I just received the RF430FRL152H EVM board. I connected it to PC via USB and set the S6 to supply. When I get closer my android app to test it I don not get any response from it to show on the app. Is it any other work I should do? I think maybe it needs to be programmed to make RF communication, right?

Hi Mousa,

please find more information in the FAQ for the RF430FRL152H:

and the EVM Users Guide:

Even without a connection to the PC and S6 switched to "Battery" (no battery needs to be inserted) the android app should recognize the EVM.

Thank you for your response. Even when I switched to battery mode the app can not recognize the EVM. I couldn't find anything else on user guide and ti documents about this. I have to test the EVM is working or not.

is your android app able to detect other RFID tags?
Do you have another reader like the TRF7970A or another smartphone for a crosscheck?

Actually it still does not work neither on my app nor on other NFC reader like the RF430FRL Demo developed by TI. Do you think something is wrong with my EVM?

Could you please clarify if I need to program MCU by MSP or Uniflash to get data on my phone? I tried to connect via default configuration but the app can not detect EVM.

Mousa,

the RF430FRL152H is at purchase delivered with firmware and should work.
If the firmware has changed or is corrupted it can be programmed with CCS or Uniflash software and a programming tool.

Please see the RF430FRL152HEVM Users Guide chapter 1.3.2
Here you can find a link to the firmware which includes also a ".HEX" and ".OUT" file in the Debug folder which can be used to restore the firmware.
