MRD2EVM: RI-STU-MRD2 selective red

Part Number: MRD2EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRPGR30ATGB, TMS37157

Hi,

I have an application where I have multiple tags aligned with an antenna and I want to detect when one of them goes missing. At the moment I am encountering the problem that I am only reading the tag that is closest (i.e. the one with the largest return signal).

Looking at the reference guide for the microreader there appears to be a selective read command which I believe will do what I want by searching for the presence of a particular rfid tag (at the moment I am using the TRPGR30ATGB tags).

However this selective read command (section 6.3.6.4 of guide) references a 6 byte UID even though the tag has a 8 byte UID (which is confirmed if I do a general charge only read as i get a 8 byte ID back). I have tried sending the read UID  command (section 6.3.6.2 of guide) but this just gives me an error response.

Could you please advise me as to how I can get the selective read command to work so that I can use it in my application?

Thanks,

Imantha

  • Hello Imantha,

The selective read command can be used with the PaLFI – TMS37157 device but not with the

    available R/O or Multi-page transponders.

The R/O or Multi-page transponders support only communication with one transponder in the field.

    Best regards,

    Uli
