CC2543: Where to buy the EVM development suit for CC2543?

Part Number: CC2543
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2545

team,

My customer plan to use CC2543 to design a 2.4GHz 'flip pen' to control PPT in presentation.

Is it a good device to choose here?

And also I see that the CC2545 EVM link in ti.com is not valid. Could you help to check where we could suggest customer to buy the development suit?

Thanks

Max

  • Hey Max,

What peripheral, technology, or protocol does your customer want to use in their solution?  There are existing software development code packages but no available hardware products.  I would highly recommend a SimpleLink CC26X2 solution for the most up-to-date software solutions and LaunchPad EVM offerings (LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1, LP-CC2652RB, etc).  These SoC products can provide greater transmit power and current consumption advantages as compared to their predecessors, and at a price point that could be advantageous to the customer.

  • Hi Ryan,

    Sorry for my late reply.

I'm not quite sure what customer's plan right now. Do you have some reference design in this application (such as remote control via blue tooth or wifi). I'm quite new to such design and it will be very helpful if there are some reference design that I could take a look at first.

    Thanks

    Max

  • As you've already noticed, the CC2545EMK is an obsolete solution.  If you were able to obtain one then the only resource available are the CC2545 Datasheet/User's Guide (from the Product Page) and the CC2545EMK Quick Start Guide.
