Hello Experts,

My customer is considering to use the CC1310 + CC1190 comb. and they would like to certify ARIB STD-T108 in Japan.

I looked for related experiment reports on TI Web, but there were no reports for ARIB STD-T108.

I would like to know, the CC1310 + CC1190 comb. are able to certify ARIB STD-T108.

Some one has any experimental reports or lab. results ?

Hi Y M,

The maximum conducted output power for ARIB STD-T108 is +13 dBm for 920.5 MHz – 928.15 MHz.

Is the CC1190 actually needed for this application, or would a CC1310 (or another CC131x device) be sufficient?

Yes, They are considering 250mW version in ARIB STD-T108

So, they need the CC1190.

Hi Y M,

Understood - we do not have any Application Reports for ARIB STD-T108 but we have a suitable design.

You will need to use a different SAW filter for Japan. If the customer wishes to use the LAUNCHXL-CC13-90US design (using 0402 size components) then the SAW filter would need to be changed to: B39931B8331P810 This has a different footprint to the original SAW filter so the design would need to be modified for this.

Below is a schematic for using the CC1312R with the CC1190 that uses 0201 size components, but can also be used with the CC1310. The path after the SPDT switch (U4) would be the same as Page 1 in the LAUNCHXL-CC13-90US design on the "CC1310 RF" page of the schematics. Unfortunately I cannot share any design files for this yet.

I would assume that it's dependent on the signal bandwidth you are planning to use and the number of unit channels you are planning to use. You can take a look at https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra457/swra457.pdf and estimate how ~10 dB higher output power will impact the result.
