CC113L: Using CC113L Normal Packet mode to receive the MAX7044 OOK 433MHz Transimitter

Part Number: CC113L

I use the MAX7044 OOK modulation 433MHz as transimitter. Could I set  the CC113L as Normal Packet mode to receive data from the MAX7044 OOK 433MHz transimitter? If it is possible, how to implement? How to send the code from the MAX7044 OOK 433MHz transimitter?

  • Hi,

I would say it should be possible as long as you keep the radio parameters aligned. Start with SmartRF studio and tweak the CC113L RF parameters to align with what MAX7044. Make sure you have the Sync words set right.

  • Hi FI,

Thanks for your reply! If it is possible, could you provide the detail information such as the preamble, sync word,CRC-16?

The most important is code timing (Logic 1 & Logic 0) define. I have try the code sent from the MAX7044 and received by SmartRF studio with CC113L. But I don't receive the right packet from CC113L. In addition, could you also provide the CC113L RF parameters setting for receive the MAX7044 OOK 433MHz transmitter?

  • Hi,

I am afraid this requires quite a bit of tweaking of RF parameters and some lab work and without the MAX7044 part at hand it will not be easy for me to give out the RF parameters.

The idea is to view the TX packet from MAX on a spectrum analyser and then tweak the parameters of Cc113L to accept the packet. You can ignore the CRC for now and just dump the packet in the SmartRF studio. As long as the sync words match you should see the packet contents.

  • Hi FI,

Thanks! Now I probably know how to do it.
