The data sheet states that the minimum data rate for the device is 600bps with a 26Mhz crystal

is it possible to set a data rate at 500bos with a different crystal.

we are using 2-FSK. I don't have a full RF-Studio solution yet.

No. 600 bps is the lowest datarate with 26 MHz xtal. From equation (1) in the datasheet you see that the datarate goes up if the xtal frequency goes up and hence 600 bps is the lowest rate possible.

We do you need 500 bps?

I need 500bps to interface with a legacy product.

I do have a version of code running on a CC1120 that supports 500bps.
