I am trying to build this demo design. This has been a nightmare. Can't buy a demo kit. The PCB design files have something wrong in them, and I have not been able to get a corrected version, so I have to design them myself. Ok, we have to eventually anyway. Now I am trying to gather the information to develop a BOM. Some of the parts are lacking key values, and I can't get help from tech support, because they don't know?!?!?! Today, in gathering the info / links to try to make this post, I stumble across the demo kit on digi key - it's listed as obsolete and not available. Should I even be trying to start a new design with these parts?
Anyway, here is the list of parts I do not have complete specifications for-
L1 - The inductance is specified, which is something, but nowhere near enough. It's 10uH, but how much current before saturation? What ESR is ok? What frequency? L1 is connected to the BQ25015 in the demo design.

I was also refferred to this reference design, but again, I cannot find the BOM anywhere.

Hi Dave,
I believe the part names for the inductors you're referring to (L111, L112, L113, L2, L5-18) are listed in the partlist.xls file in the reference design, which can be found here. Their inductance values are listed online.
The two resistors (R23 and R241) are do-not-mount, so no resistance value is needed.
As for the L1 inductance value, why is 10 uH is too little? On the BQ datasheet it is listed as 10 uH in a typical application.
I did have that zip file. I did not see the xls file, but here is a line from it -

This does not contain anything but possibly the inductance rating - 2.2nH, and the case size, 0402.
None of the other parameters that define an inductor are listed. ESR, max current, Q, etc.
I did find a current rating for the inductor in the BQ data sheet. At least that narrows it down for that one a lot.
My experience with inductors is mostly in switch mode power supplies, where all of these parameters matter. RF is not something I have done a lot with. Some of the inductors in the first list are in the RF signal path. I need to know I am picking the correct type of parts. There are enough unknown variables having to re create the PCBs as it is.

Hmmm interesting. I wonder if it's a computer issue. Here is what I see when I open the xls file on my computer. I think the part number column should have what you're looking for.
