I have understood that the EZ430-Chronos watch is no longer in production and is not supported by TI anymore, is it correct? Have you plans to introduce a new 'watch ' concept similar to Chonos? Could the Chronos 868 MHz model be used for receiving data from or transmitting data to other subGHz TI development devices or to devices applying for instance the LoRa 868 MHz protocol?
Hello Patrick,
Unfortunately, this is correct. I'm not aware of any new watch type platforms to be released.
In my opinion, as cool and fun as the chrono's watches are they are actually a fairly fixed function platform. Since TI customers develop a huge variety of platforms, something more simple and modular like the Launchpad platform seems to be much more useful for prototyping.
There Chronos can talk with some of our other SimpleLink wireless products. For more information on the development platforms for those devices, look here: http://www.ti.com/wireless-connectivity/simplelink-solutions/overview/development-tools.html
Thanks and good luck!
JD
