CC1352R: How much is the overhead data in TI 15.4?

Hi,

I am using TI 15.4 for communication between 1 sensor and collector at 200kbps/863Mhz. I wish to find the effective data rate for the actual application payload data and not the data rate including the overheads. How can I do that?

Also are the mentioned PHY data rates like 5,50 and 200kbps for the actual application payload data or it is including the TI 15.4 stack overheads?

Hi Sidharth,

The PHY data rates include the TI 15.4-Stack overheads. Application data rates include several factors such as PHY data rate, mode (Frequency Hopping, Beacon, Non-beacon), packet size/interval, etc. Some evaluation can be performed with SMARTRFTM-STUDIO in IEEE 802.15.4 mode, otherwise you will need to configure the sensor/collector examples to figure out what is best for your application. https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=pTTHBmu__&node=APeHcG.A0wniaym22zAYKw__pTTHBmu__LATEST
