Hi, I'm using a SoM from Variscite that has a iMX6 processor with a WL1837 wireless chip and I'm using Yocto to build our Linux image.

My current setup uses Connman for managing network and wpa_supplicant as wireless daemon. I want to try replacing wpa_supplicant with iwd, but I cannot get it to start because rfkill fails to start as well.

So I wanted to know if there are any existing driver of wl1837 for rfkill existing or if this is something I will have to do myself?

Hi,

We test WiLink8 drivers with wpa_supplicant and have not tested it with iwd

We are not able to comment much on this since we don't do such testing at our end.

Hi Ignacio,

Most of our WiLink8 tests use wpa_cli , that in turn uses wpa_supplicant etc.

I don't believe wl18xx/wlcore kernel modules have code specific to RFKILL , but other wireless kernel modules that lie above it such as cfg80211 etc. may support it directly/indirectly. As far as i know, we don't run rfkill specific tests at our end .
