Hi,

In the documentation of CC3100MODR11MAMOBR is written:

Industrial flash programmer – flashes a complete image prepared with UniFlash directly to the serial flash. Can be applied when no SimpleLink device is attached to the serial flash. Content is programmed using the serial flash SPI lines.

but we find out that SPI SCK from serial Flash is not connected to the module pin. The question is how to program the serial flash using SPI lines, which pins of the modules are shall be connected?

Hi Frantisek,

What is exact document where this is stated? Because I see this sentense at SWRU577 which is related to CC3200 and CC3100 QFN not a CC3100MOD.

CC3100MOD is not possible to program with SPI Gang programmer. This is supported at newer modules like a CC3120 and CC3135.

Hi Jan,

Actually you're right. Sentence is from swpa230a.pdf, which is dedicated for CC3120 and CC3220.

OK, is there other way how to program CC3100MOD using the external (3rd party) programmer?

Hi Frantisek,

No. You need to use programming via UART. Programming via SPI programmer like a BeeProg or Cheetah is supported at 2nd and 3rd generation modules.

In general UART is not problem on BeeProg2.In this case we need a programming protocol.

you'll need to use uniflash as the programming tool.

It seems that this is a new project. Why do you use CC3100 which is a very old device with a limited support? It is not recommended for new designs.

We don't use CC3100 in our products. Our customer asked us to implement the programming support for this module on our programming tools. Of course UniFlash is not an option, because modules shall be placed in the socket of the programmer and your SW cannot "driver" our tools.
