How do we ensure components used in resources / Technology used are not infringing on third part patents. As TI is not going to support on this as mentioned in Datasheets or other documentations.

Whom should be contacted for complete evaluation of design for such possibilities patents violation? Are there any services available?

Hi Ben,

I need to understand following from Product design perspective

1. Can Third party claim IP infringement for technology used in TI chipset ? like .H264 Encoder, Wifi Transmission etc.

2. For Reference software who can guide us technologies used to evaluate for Third party IP usage.

I fully understand that while designing product product designer is fully responsible to do such checks but I am curious to know if there are any services available from organizations for doing such checks for designer to save on designer's time.

Hi,

Regarding (1), you should review TI's terms of sale: https://www.ti.com/legal/terms-of-sale.html. There is an explanation of the answer regarding IP in the chipset.

For software used on the device, you should follow the applicable licensing. Please review the licensing of any software published in our reference designs.
