CC3100MOD: Security key protection

Part Number: CC3100MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CC3100

Simplelink Wifi team,

This question is for a customer who has already designed with the CC3100MOD as an STA, and the product is in the field.  They're concerned about someone being able to get the Wifi key by opening their product and reading from the Flash.

Is the security key (WPA2 key) encrypted when stored in Flash?

Can the key be read by connecting the CC3100 to a PC and using Uniflash for example?  (or similar)

Can the key be read by bypassing the host MCU and using a command like sl_WlanProfileGet()?

Thanks,

Darren
