Good morning,

I'm performing test in accordance to the standard ETSI EN 301 511 for the certification of a product with WL1831 radio module in co-location with a GSM module

I have a problem with spurius emission on frequency range from 10,1 GHz to 10,6 GHz exceeding the limits

These emissions were only seen when the WL18MOD radio module was set to "receive"

Can you help me understand what's the origin of the disturbance exceeding limit and what I can do to fix it?

Hi giacomo,

Are you using the TI WL1831MOD or a WL1831 based module from one of our module partners?

For the TI module, have you referred to the test report : processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xxMOD_Certification_Reports The WL18xx modules are already CE certified.

Thank you for your answer.

I'm sorry but it was a mistake because we used a WL1837MOD not a WL1831MOD.

I confirm that it is only a chip to be soldered in a PCB and of course our engineers refered to the datasheet you linked above.

For this product we have co-location with another LTE module (not a Texas Module) and we use a COMBO antennas (custom) not already approved from TI.

I checked if the disturbances were generated by the LTE module, but apparently the problem only occurs by putting the WL1837MOD in RX mode.

Are there any other differences aside from using the custom antenna? Please request a hardware design review here and make a note of the issue.
