CC3235MODAS: One PCB design to take either CC3220MODAx or CC3235MODAx

Part Number: CC3235MODAS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi,

Further questions on designing a board to take either the CC3220MODAx or the CC3235MODAx module with antenna.

1. PCB Footprint: can you confirm the PCB footprint for both modules is identical ?

2. XDS110: my target board will support an XDS110 IN connector (std 10-pin to mate with the LP XDSOUT conn). Pin 1 on the XDSOUT connector on the LP is VCC via a 1K res. I believe it was used for voltage sensing but no longer ? Shall I leave pin 1 on my XDSIN connector as a ‘no connect’ ? For info I will be running my board at 3.3V while developing.

3. SFLASH programming via UART: On my board I have broken out GPIO1, GPIO2 and nReset (and GND) so they can be directly connected with the ‘BackChannel UART’ jumpers on the LP. This will I believe facilitate programming of the SFLASH from the Uniflash application. Did I miss anything here ?

  • Stuart,

    1. Yes, they are identical. See mechanical drawings at the end of each modules' datasheets.

    2. Yes, pin1 is used for voltage sensing and the 1k resistor is there to limit current. I would leave pin1 as is and add the 1k resistor just in case.

    3. No, you got it.
