CC1110-CC1111: Detecting manchester coding errors.

I am using cc1110 to receive a different radio's 2-FSK signal that is manchester encoded. The packets are variable length, and the end of packet is signaled by several manchester errors. I have not found a way to detect that using the cc1110 registers. Is there something I have overlooked or is this something I cannot do with a cc1110?

This is a use case that CC1110 is not primary designed for.
One option is to use infinite packet length and let the MCU detect the end of the packet by detecting the manchester errors.

If you set up the radio to receive 2-FSK with the same bit rate as the manchester encoded symbol rate the received data will be 0101, 1001, 0110, or 0101 (i.e 0x5, 9, 6 or A). A manchester violation at the end of the packet can then be easily determined.

I was hoping there was a way to do this without custom processing of the data, but it sounds like there isn't. I'll have to update my firmware to have a special mode for processing this.
