WL1833: configure bandwidth to 20MHz

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1833

Team, Customer is using QNX OS on Sitara attempting certification using WL1833 and are experiencing issues.

Customer needs to configure WL1833 transmit bandwidth to be 20Mhz. Using Calibrator commands the outputs always show 20Mhz signals except when connected to an AP that supports 40Mhz then the WL1833 transmitted at 40Mhz bandwidth.

How do they specify bandwidth to 20MHz? Normally I would suggest the tune_channel command as discussed on the wiki, but I'm not sure if that's appropriate given they're using QNX processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xx_TX_Testing

  • Hi,
QNX release also has option to run the calibrator tool.
Note that we need to separate between the PLT mode (using calibrator) where you cannot connect to remote AP and the functional mode where you can connect to remote AP.

For PLT mode (using calibrator) you need to use the link you shared where you can control what BW to use in the channel tune commnad (3rd parameter should be 0).

In the functional mode the device is not supporting 40MHz in BG band.
In order to disable it for A abnd you will need to run the configure-device.sh script and explicitly disable it.
If you configured 1 antenna for BG band you will be asked if you want to enabled the 40MHz in A band.
