Linux: Linux PCIE EP Test fail

Hi all,

My test environment : Linux kernel version 4.4.84, J6 is used as PCIE EP conncting PC. I refer to this document “Linux Core PCIe EP User's Guide” as follows.

What is the cause of failure? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

When the end-point function binds to the controller, the inbound address translation unit (ATU) table is set up. This table maps each bar entry. On J6, there are only 4 inbound ATU entries, and thus while mapping the 5th and 6th bar entries, it fails, as there is no free ATU window.

This isn't an error, it limits the no of bars that can be mapped.

Hi,

The PCI endpoint test function can be used to test the working of the EP. More information can be found in the Linux Core PCIe EP user-guide, specifically section 4.3.

Hi,

Please follow the below thread for more information. You may need hardware modifications on the board, which is called out in this thread, you may also need a patch which is also attached in this thread.

The issue pertaining to errors in BAR-5,6 seems to be resolved. I would recommend creating a new thread for any further queries.
