CCS/TDA3: Unable to do QSPI write using CCS

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I was trying to flash the M4 with a program using JTAG , in the user guide as well as on similar board I am getting MID - 1 DID – 18, but on a particular board I am getting it as MID - FF DID -FF.

The JTAG is also failing at location 0x00, and stops immediately without flashing...showing below logs

Read xxxxxx bytes from [100%] file...Done.
QSPI whole chip erase in progress
QSPI file write started

QSPI file write failed at 0x00

************QSPI flash completed sucessfully**************

Can please tell me what is the issue..

Hi Tom,

What is the QSPI flash part present on the board. What is the starterware version you are using?
What are the SYSBOOT and SW8001 settings?
You have mentioned that it fails on one of the boards. Are there any other differences on this board w.r.t. other boards?

Hi Rishabh Garg ,

I tried with SYSBOOT settings : 00011000 10000001
and 10011000 10000001
The SW8001 : 0100 0001
Both boards are same TDA3x only
But the board which I could successfully flash is Rev C and the new board which I am not able to flash is Rev E.

What is the QSPI flash part present on the board. What is the starterware version you are using?
I am not sure how to find the answers for these questions.

Hi Tom,

TDA3xx EVM Rev C has Spansion flash and Rev D and higher have micron flash part. This is why you are facing this issue.
You need to use the starterware version 01.07.00.19 or higher in order to run on Rev E EVM.
The corresponding Vision SDK release is 02.11.00.
