TLV320AIC3262: Audio forum

Part Number: TLV320AIC3262

Hi expert

My customer design this part and they have one question about the MEMS microphone start-up time which is connected to TLV320AIC3262IYZFR.

  • DMIC_SCL is connected to IC's H8 pin(output)
  • MIC_P is connected to IC's G3 pin (Input)

And when 3262 sent the first clock (DMIC_SCL) to MEMs microphone, 3262 should wait about 100ms then received MEMs' feedback- MIC_P valid output data.

So the customer would like to know is 100ms acceptable or not? Is it too long for our chip?

And do we have the specification for this response time?

  • Hi Paul,

Could you please help share your comments on the following to help us better understand the requirements?

    1. Is the MIC_P behavior during the initial 100 ms undefined or is it zero as shown in the diagram?

    2. We can always sequence the commands that enable the digital mic clock and AIC3262's processing engine. The delay between these two events can be increased so that they are more than 100 ms. Would such an approach meet the customer requirements?

    Best Regards.

  • Hi Paul,

Since we haven't heard back from you, we assume that you have been able to address the delay in the powering on of digital microphone.

Apart from the option suggested before, i.e. powering on the digital mic before powering on the Codec, you may also use the channel mute function if you are dynamically powering on and powering off the microphone while the codec is running. The channel should be muted before powering on and unmuted after powering on.

I am going to mark this thread as resolved. Please get back to us if you have any further concerns.

    Best Regards.
