DLP2010EVM-LC: MIPI DSI on LPD 2010

I'm almost done with the board with MIPI-DSI interface I asked about earlier.
My application uses the DMD in an custom optical package, illuminated by a single laser diode driven by a separate current source. Optically, this works well.
But I am not sure how to treat the LED driver in the DLPA2000, since we won't use it. For our final design, can we just leave the LED power converter and LED connections of the DLPA2000 unattached? Or will we need to attach some dummy load to the LED drivers?

Hello Kyle, thank you for your thorough reply. We understand that we will lose some of the excellent features the DLPC3430 offers with this setup. We would have loved to use the built-in current control, but the choice of laser diode is unfortunately out of our hands. I understand that you can't support us on how to control the laser diode for our specific application, but that is already solved and tested. Since we are running monochrome only, we don't seem to need synchronization between the laser and the DMD. The big question for us is: can we leave the unused LED boost converter and outputs floating on the DLPA2000? Or do we need to connect it all up and add dummy loads to the LED outputs?
