How UART in 9-bit mode is Used in 5502?

As In the Microcontroller SM2 bit Used for Multiprocessor communication(Master First Sends Device address to all connected peropheral with TB8 set ,if Address Matches with perticular peripheral,peripheral clears its SM2 bit as indication of that peripheral is gonna communicate with Master) and communication starts, like that.

How it Works in TMS320VC5502?

I don't know what the equivalent of the SM2 bit is on the C5502 device. I checked to see what equivalent bit enables multiprocessor but could not spot it. Which MCU device are you referring to?

Hi LalindraSir,

I am working on a project where one TMS320VC5501/5502 processor communicate with same other 16 processors on same UART, I simply want to know how that multiprocessor communication of UART mode can be used in DSPs, they Explained some Parity,Sticky parity bits in UART Manual but i am not able to understand it properly.

need some help to understand that.

Hi Dixit,

Usually UART is a point to point connection - from PC host to device, typically through RS-232 or lately a virtual com port.

To enable multidrop, you should look into something like an RS-485 trasnciever IC. Still the UART protocol does not support device addressing (like I2C) and you will have to manage that with software. Other industrial protocols may also suit your requirements.
