How many Keystone II SOC EVMs exist?

Hi all,

Before I go to buy a EVM of Keystone II SOC, I just want to know How many Keystone II SOC EVMs exist.

From what I know, there are three Keystone II SOC EVMs as followed

1.  Advantech's EVMK2Hx using TCI6638K2K

2. einfochips's EVMK2E using  66AK2E05

3. einfochips's EVMK2L using TCI6630K2L

So are there any other Keystone II SOC EVMs?

Thanks!

  • Hi Feng Jin,

Those are currently the only three KeyStone II EVMs that exist. They provide EVM support for K2H, K2E and K2L components.

    Regards, Bill

  • Hi Bill,

    Thank you!

    Some other questions,

    1. What does the suffix H, E or L of K2H, K2E or K2L respectively mean?

In http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/dsp/keystone_arm/products.page, I just can find the 66AK2E02/05/06 and 66AK2H12/14.

But I can not find the K2L. And why does not the TCI6638K2K list in this page http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/dsp/keystone_arm/products.page?

By the way, I am in China. Maybe TI website filters the IPs from China to search some other lastest chips.

    2. Does the Advantech's EVMK2Hx contain TCI6638K2K which can cover all the fetures of 66AK2H14 completely?

    Regards,

    Feng

  • Hi Feng,

The H, E and L refer to the internal product names for the devices. You can think of them as family names. For example, all devices that have the K2E are pin compatible but may have a different number of ARM cores or a slightly different set of interfaces available. The TCI6638K2K and the K2L devices were developed for the base station vertical markets and not for the broad market so the information may not be available on TI.com.

The EVMK2Hx should cover all the features of the 66AK2H14. The K2H is the broad market version of the TCI6638K2K device.

  • Hello Bill,

I'm not seeing how to order an EVMK2L or EVMK2XL.  Are these TI EVMs, or eInfochips EVMs?  The eInfochips website shows the EVMK2L for wireless baseband development, but no mention of how to order it, nor do I see any ordering info on TI website.  I have a customer eager to order these!  Please advise.

  • Hi Leonard,

Currently the K2L components are offered with a TCI number and are only supported through TI FAEs. You will have to contact your local TI FAE to get more information on the part and the availability of the EVM.

    Regards, Bill

  • Yes, I'm not seeing a description of the EVMK2LX; how is it different from the EVMK2L?   And is there a User Guide for these EVMs?  If so, from where can I download it?

    ~Leonard

  • Hi Leonard,
All the technical information for the board is on the eInfochips website. The only difference between the two boards should be the version of the part that is installed.

  • Hi,

we are also in process of buy K2+Arm SOC evm boards. We zeroed on K2L and TCIEVMK2X . The K2L has DFE (6630) while the TCIEVMK2X  has no DFE. (6636). Is there a add on board with DFF/AFE for 6636,

Please let us know about it. Currently there is no update on the availability status of K2L.. Just note we are in contact with  Ti FAE.

    Regards
