Eeprom Bootloader Differences Between Evaluation Boards.

Hi to all

I have two 6678 evaluation board: TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0 and TMDSEVM6678L Rev.3B

I set the dip switches on no boot mode and programed "eeprom51.bin" on eeprom of these boards. After that i set the dip switches on I2C boot mode and when i push "RST_FULL" buttons on the boards, TMDSEVM6678L Rev.3B worked successfully but TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0 not worked. What is differences of this 2 board?

When i bought TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0, it had CCSv5 with mcsdk_2_00_00_beta2 and its writer examples have .dat file for loading to eeprom but in newer version, TMDSEVM6678L Rev.3B, writer examples have .bin file for loading to eeprom.

Can i use .bin file for loading to eeprom in TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0?

Hi,

Yes, you can use latest MCSDK IBL .bin file for loading to eeprom in TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0. I have flashed the latest MCSDK IBL binary (.bin) on TMDXEVM6678LE Rev 1.0. It is working fine.

Refer MCSDK user guide for more information(Read Note: For BIOS-MCSDK 2.0.8 and prior version package):

You can find a list of changes between the different revisions of the EVM6678 in the known issues document on the Advantech website for the board.

Thank you both.

I want boot the POST program to eeprom and when i program this binary file to Rev.3B, it work successfully but it doesn't work on Rev1.0 and i don't know why?

Also when i make my binary file, it doesn't work on no board. Do i edit text of "post_romparse.bat" of the POST project? However the first problem is more important.

Hi,

The POST boot program from EEPROM using the I2C slave bus address as 0x50. But you use I2C slave bus address 0x51 on your previous thread.

TI has validated POST I2C boot on Rev.1 EVM. Refer Program_evm guide to re-flash the binary on your setup.

I tested the POST program on both address(0x50 and 0x51) but none doesn't worked.

Hi,

I think you are not clear understand the I2C boot mode. In I2C boot mode user can flashed the POST binary at EEPROM 0x50 address.

IBL is flashed at EEPROM 0x51 address and POST is flashed at EEPROM 0x50 address.

Have you re-flashed the EVM Rev.1 binary on your setup? If no, Refer Program_evm guide to re-flash the binary on your setup.

Please share the EVM Rev.1 setup image and step by step programming images.
