TMDSEVM6678: Problem installing Processor SDK RTOS on Linux

I am trying to install C6678 Processor SDK RTOS for Linux, but am having trouble.

I successfully downloaded the file "ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin" to my Ubuntu 16.04.03 Downloads folder.

Having NOT found any documentation on the TI site for how to install this, I started a Terminal, cd to the Downloads folder, verified that the file was set as executable, and then ran the following command from the Terminal:

sudo ./ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin

It asked for my password, and then started running the installation GUI. I selected everything for installation, and took the default /opt/ti installation folder. Eventually I got the following error:

Warning: Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly. Error running /opt/ti/cgt6x_x86_installer --prefix /opt/ti --mode unattended: child process exited abnormally.

Any ideas? This is on a PC with fresh Ubuntu 16.04.03 installation.

Hi Eric,

Here is what I do to install the processor sdk:
1. Download ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin
2. cd ~/Downloads
3. chmod +x ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin
4. I execute: ./ti-processor-sdk-rtos-c667x-evm-04.01.00.06-Linux-x86-Install.bin
5. keep the default installation paths (which is your $HOME directory).

Avoid executing step 4 with sudo it will mess up with the execution rights and you may have problems afterwords with the compilation.

Hi Yordan,

Thank you for your suggestions. I followed your sequence, and unfortunately I still get the same error (except /opt/ti is replaced with /home/me/ti).

Is it possible to test on another machine (windows or linux)?
Do you get anything in the dmesg log of your host PC?

Hello Yordan,

I should back up a minute... My main problem was/is that I am trying to lower my IPC Interrupt Priority, as documented in my E2E thread:

e2e.ti.com/.../614005

I couldn't successfully rebuild the IPC Library under Windows - the build would always hang / stall at the same point. It was suggested to me (on the above-mentioned thread) to try building the IPC Library on Linux instead of Windows, and that is how I got here!

So if I can solve my original IPC problem (614005), I would have no more use for this thread. I work in a Windows shop, so I typically have little use for Linux.
