Updating SWOSD Database Fonts for DM365 IPNC_RDK 5.1

Hello,

I'm working with IPNC_RDK 5.1 SWOSD to display character strings on OLED for a camera.

The present SWOSD String Pattern has limited characters (77 characters). I would like to add more symbol characters. In accordance, i added the required symbols in SWOSD_STRINGPATTERN. I updated the YUV Database with the symbol image values as well. And as a final step, i changed the string width to be SWOSD_STRINGWIDTH_770_20 = 780 from the previous value 770 as the character width is 10. But when i try to display the new character symbols, the character display gets corrupted (DB gets corrupted). It works fine only for the present string pattern with string width 770 (i.e 77 characters).

I would be grateful if anyone could come up with the solution to this issue as soon as possible

Hi Rodney,

Create New font JPEG file as per your requirement using paint and convert it in header file.

I have the YUV database of the symbol characters. I've added them in the SWOSD YUV Database. The issue is that when I update the present STRING PATTERN and the STRING LENGTH, the display DB gets corrupted. Am I going wrong somewhere?

Hi Rodney,

I also tried this before 1 year and got same issue.
You need to create same size of font(i.e. "i" and "m" having same width) and increase gap between two character.

Hello Prashant,

No luck yet. The characters are of same width. What exactly did u mean 'increase the gap'? In the YUV database parameters or while displaying?

Hi Rodney,

In YUV database, with increasing gap between two character(font size remain same but width will increase) reduces corrupt character.

I've resolved the issue. The problem was that you can't add the new YUV DB to the existing one as there is no sequential mapping. Creating a new DB or recreating the existing DB with new characters does the task.
