Connecting CMOS camera module to TMS320C6A8168

We want to connect a Leopard Imaging LI-1M01CM 1.3MP CMOS camera module (Aptina MT9M112 CMOS sensor) to our Integra DDR3 EVM. This forms part of a larger project, for which we are busy designing our own I/O expansion board which will interface the Integra DDR3 EVM to an FPGA, C6746 DSP, TFT LCD and also the CMOS camera module.

Not having any previous experience with video / CMOS camera devices, I would like to know whether a simple connection scheme (e.g., such as that used on the BeagleBoard-xM : 2642.BBxMSRM_P98.pdf ) would work in this instance, if we were to connect the camera module to the Integra's Video Input 0 Port A 8-bit digital video interface.

The MT9M112 datasheet states that the CMOS sensor can output digital video in the following 8-bit digital formats:

  1. ITU-R BT.656 (formerly CCIR656, progressive scan only) YCbCr
  2. 565RGB
  3. 555RGB
  4. 444RGB
  5. Raw Bayer
  6. Processed Bayer

Which (if any) of the above video input formats would be compatible with the C6A8168 Integra, how exactly would I accomplish the connection and does software driver support for this type of application already exist?

Thanks!
