Dear Sir,

Since we couldn’t find any RGB Graphics Digitizer (RGB decoder) from TI, So we have Chosen ADV7181C (Analog Devices part) as RGB Decoder.

Can we interface this to the ISIF interface of DM816x family?

12 bit pixels out format

Can you tell me whether this can possible and needed support will be given (like Software for this decoder with this processor will be available or support can be given to build).

Else can you suggest what is the other way for the below spec

3 RGB video inputs: - RGB STANAG 3350B standard inputs

1 Y/C Video input: - Y/C STANAG 3350B standard inputs.

2 RGB video outputs

The DM81xx does not support 12 bit capture through the video ports.We do not have any software to support this digitizer.

You can use the TVP7002 from TI for RGB/YPbPr capture. Whilst the status of TVP7002 is NRND (not recommended for new designs) this is really mainly due to limited design support availability. The device itself will be available for purchase and is not end of life.

Now, TVP7002 cannot be used. So we are choosing ADV7802. Can you verify this decoder and tell us that whether this decoder can interface with DM8168 ?

This device should be OK and can be used in 24 bit or 30 bit embedded or discrete sync mode.

It is still necessary to do a full output to input setup/hold timing check though.

Yes, this should be OK.

Driver support will likely not be currently in the RDK/SDK though and you will need to ensure HDCP driver code is written.

It depends entirely on the OS you are using and what features are enabled.
