RTOS/OMAP-L137: Which RTOS to use for OMAP-L137? DSP/BIOS, SYS/BIOS or TI-RTOS?

Part Number: OMAP-L137
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello,

I am working on a project that uses the OMAP-L137 as the main application processor. We will use both, ARM9 and the DSP CC674x in it in our use-case.

I wish to use TI’s RTOS for evaluating it’s USB device side driver performance.

I am confused between DSP/BIOS and SYS/BIOS packages. And then there is a TI-RTOS package also.

Which one of the above 3, and within them which version of it will support OMAP-L137, including USB Device side drivers?

Also, which compatible CCS version should I be using with it?

I have a registered account in TI and please guide me to the links of the supported RTOS and CCS to make OMAP-L137 boot and be able to use USB device-side drivers.

I appreciate your help.

Regards,

Yusuf Husainy.

  • Hi Yusuf,

I've forwarded this to the software experts. Their feedback should be posted here.

  • Yusuf,

This is a fairly mature device so the currently BIOS drivers offering on this device is based on BIOS6.x which you can find here:

BIOS PSP Release version 02.00.01 (release for DA830 also applies to C6747/OMAPL137 devices).

Please note that we don`t support USB driver in this offering. The software for this device is being refreshed so that we can support TI RTOS and latest CCS for development but the USB driver will still not be provided with this release.

If this is a requirement for your project, please get in touch with your local TI sales and ask them to reach out to the BU with this request. If this a new development then you can also look at OMAPL138 which does have USB driver support on ARM9 using Linux OS.

    Regards,
    Rahul
