Power-Supply sequencing abuot DSP6455

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6455

Hi,

I have a problem about "Power-Supply sequencing"  . I knows some DSP's Power-Supply sequencing should be core power first which is 1.2 > 3.3 .

but why DSP6455's sequence is: 3.3(IO) > 1.2 (core)  > 1.8(IO).

what advantages for this  sequencing?

  • Yong Wang,

Each device type may have different power sequencing requirements, although it is often true that members of the same device family will have the same sequencing requirements. You will always want to refer to the device's most recent datasheet and the most recent silicon errata document for that device to find the required power supply sequencing requirements.

The sequencing stated in the TMS320C6455 datasheet is required for proper operation of the device. There could be features that work more reliably with this sequencing procedure, or perhaps basic device reliability, or following a different procedure could cause damage to the device. All of these are possibilities for any device in general, not statements about this C6455 in particular.

The sequencing method that is listed in the datasheet is the sequencing that is used in our testing of the device. This is the only sequencing that can be used and retain TI's guarantee of proper device operation.
