CCS/TMDSLCDK6748: When will the SDK for the TMDSLCDK6748 be available for CCSv7?

Part Number: TMDSLCDK6748
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSEMU110-U, , OMAPL138, OMAP-L138

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

When will the SDK for the TMDSLCDK6748 be available with CCSv7? I have a LCDK and XDS110 debug probe but I don't see any support for LCDK under Resource Explorer. I want to run an audio pass-through and then add a filter.

There are several posts on the TI E2E forum by TI employees that indicate the SDK is planned for Q2 2017.

Thanks,

AV

[TMDSLCDK6748, CCS V7.1, TMDSEMU110-U, Windows 10]

  • Hi,

The processor sdk is released every quarter, so it should be available with the future releases... I've contacted the factory team to confirm.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
  • Hello Yordan,

Please let me clarify my request. I have a TMDSLCDK6748 board, a TMDSEMU110-U debug probe, and CCS v7.1.0.00016 installed on a Windows 10 Pro PC. Which additional apps do I need to install in order to run more examples on the LCDK other than Hello World? As mentioned, I would like to run some audio examples. The end of Q2 is June 30th, so is that when we can expect to see TI-RTOS support for LCDK in CCS v7?

In the meantime, which software tools should I be using right now to develop with the LCDK? Which versions of CCS, TI-RTOS, SYS/BIOS, MCSDK, XDC, StarterWare, etc...?

    Regards,
    AV
  • Art,

We are currently tracking end of this month for the release of Processor SDK RTOS 4.0 which will include support for C6748 /OMAPL138 devices. The release will be called Processor SDK RTOS for OMAPL138 which is the superset device. C6748 is the DSP only part number for this device family.

We will provide a McASP LLD example that does the audio loop back as part of the McASP low level driver and the SDK will include the CCSv7 support that you are looking for. In the meantime, there is a MCSDK1.1 release on ti.com that supports McASP driver and audio loopback that you can use for your development but this was supported with older version of TI RTOS and CCS.

    Regards,
    Rahul
  • FYI, the Processor SDK RTOS has been released for the OMAPL138. It is listed on the OMAP-L138 Product Folder under Tools & software.
