TMDSLCDK6748: McASP, Noise Floor

Part Number: TMDSLCDK6748

Hello everyone,

I've got the TMS320C6748 DSP Development Kit (LCDK) and want to do some audio signal processing.

I'm running the example "MCASP_5F00_Audio_5F00_lcdkOMAPL138_5F00_c674xExampleProject" from my last thread:

In principle it works and I can play music through the board, but the noise level is very much higher in contrast to a direct connection to the amplifier without the eval board.
It doesn't matter if any cable is plugged in to the input jack of the board. I tried different cables for the connection between board and amplifier. As long as the program is not started, the noise level is very low. The noise floor only appears when I start the program, in particular when I execute line 123 in "audioSample_main.c" (BIOS_start()). Therefore I think it is a software issue.

Why the noise floor is so much higher and how I can reduced it? Is there a setting for the McASP or AIC3106 audio codec?

Best regards,
Patrick
