Hi,

unfortunately I'm not able to use my miniPCIe firewire cards with my AM572x eval board. It isn't possible to ping another firewire receiver. It is possible to initiate a bus reset.

Does anybody have a clue?

There is another thread about firewire PCie card on AM572x at e2e.ti.com/.../586968. Is it the same issue? Are both the same PCIe card?

Could you share what changes you made when running menuconfig?

Hi,

the thread is another issue.

I have two mini-pcie cards. FW643E from LSI and XIO2213b from TI. Both cards aren't working properly. Whereas the card from LSI is recognized when I execute "ifconfig -a".

The only changes I made when running menuconfig where activating the firewire drivers (Device drivers -> IEEE 1394 (FireWire) support -> (M) Firewire driver stack / (M) OHCI-1394 controllers / (M) IP Networking over 1394). When I'm activating Lock usage statistics additionally (Kernel hacking -> Lock Debugging -> Lock usage statistics) the issue improves. Then the cards are recognized and I'm able to transfer data with iperf3 for around 15 minutes, but never more.

Ok. Those changes in menuconfig would be the ones I would do. Thanks for confirming. Let me see if I can get both cards to try, at least the xio2213b if not both.

For xio2213b, the card is enumerated and can be seen in lspci, but ifconfig -a doesn't show the interface, correct?

Are you using a PCIe interposer (adapter) to be able to plug in the PCIe x1 add-in card?

I'm assuming that you are testing on the AM572x GP EVM but want to be sure.

I think it's the AM572x GP EVM. It has the part number TMDSEVM572X.
The board has one slot for mSATA and one slot for miniPCIe. My Xio2213b is a native miniPCIe card. It's a EX-48015 from Exsys.
