PRU and Starterware setup.exe can not run on windows xp system

Hi,

I had downloaded PRU and Staterware windows installer from TI's website, but when I click the setup.exe to install, windows xp system crash. So what cause the exe file can not excute on windows xp system? It is need some special windows packages for the installer?

Hi Victor,

The StarterWare exe doesnt need any special windows package. Is the behavior consistent? which version of StarterWare are you trying to install?

Hi Baskaran,

Yes, It always has the same behavior. The behavior is: When click the "Setup.exe", there do not display any popup window, the Windows xp became very busy and cann't response any input.

The version of Starterware is "C6748_StarterWare_1_20_02_02-Setup.exe". I had tried to install it in other two PC(windows xp), also get the same result.

We have not seen this issue with the StarterWare installer, so thanks for bringing this to our attention. Have you tried the more recent 1.20.03.03 installer? It's available for download from the same location:

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/c6000/starterware/01_20/index_FDS.html

All versions should definitely work on Windows XP. Do you have administrator privileges on the PC in question?

Hi Joe,

The latest version also had problem on our company's computer. Using administrator privileges can not install too. It seems the installer can not run on our company's computer at all. Is TI provide Starerware's source code which do not need to install for download?
