Hi,

We would like to know if we can use SSC 5.11 on older versions of ISDK 1.x.x (v01.01.02.01).

Our customer's application is already into production using ISDK v01.01.02.01
and they have a requirement to update the Slave Stack Code to v5.11.
We understand the latest ISDK supports SSC 5.11 but we want to know if it is
possible to update SSC 5.11 on v01.01.02.01 and what could be the procedure to implement this.

Hi Kummi

The current version SYSBIOS Industrial SDK 01.01.03 uses Beckhoff Slave Stack Version 5.10. This is described in the Release notes at processors.wiki.ti.com/.../SYSBIOS_Industrial_SDK_02.01.03_Release_Notes .

However, ISDK 02.01.03 does use Beckhoff Slave Stack Version 5.11.

Regretfully at this time there is not a procedure to update the EtherCAT full stack example from slave stack version 5.10 to version 5.11.
We will ask our experts if there is an method to do this.

Our experts said the that firmware interface is identical across all three SDKs for EtherCAT. They believe that if the customer is willing to port the 5.11 stack from ISDK 2.1.3 to ISDK 1.1.3 they will find it to be relatively straight forward because the stack has a HW adaptation layer.
