Hi!

I'm trying to connect a msp430g2231 through a tusb3410 to the computer. I've made a board for the tusb, the circuit it is shown in the picture. There you can also see the connection with the msp430. the mcu is in the Launchpad and it has the "Pre-programmed Demo Application - Internal Temperature Measurement" in flash.

the tusb3410 board is recognized by the computer but I can't see any data being transfered

the "STATUS" bar in the serial capture program shown some activity on CTS, DCD, DSR and Ring, however, none of these pins are connected.

With the msp430 conected with the Launchpad as serial port I'm able to see the data stream and the RXD pin in the "status" bar blinking so the mcu it's not the problem.

Any ideas?

Also, provide a schematic showing the complete connection between the TUSB3410 and the MSP.

I read tha application document and everything seems to be wright.

I changed the TUSB3410 and now is working!

another question;

I'll be only needing TX and RX, what should I do with the other pins (CTS,DSR,etc.)? Is it okay to leave those pins unconnected?

Juan,

I did not notice you had asked another question at first.

I assume you are beyond this by now, bit input pins and I/O pins should never be left unconnected. Tie them to GND via a resistor to prevent noise from being injected into the system.
