Hi Team,

Our customer is having trouble that the Host chipset cannot see the TUSB7320 on PCI bus line.
They are using "Windows 8 Embedded" for their operating system.

Could you please tell me about the following items ?

1) Please tell me the latest Windows8 Driver name and version for TUSB7320.

2) Do you have proven design in the market using TUSB7320 with Windows8 OS ?

Best Regards,
Kawai

  • Hello Kawai,

Windows 8 have their own xHCI driver, this inbox driver is the recommend to use on this OS, it means Texas Instruments doesn’t distribute a “TI’s driver” for Windows 8

All our performed testing on Windows 8 has run without problem, even our TUSB7340 has passed WHQL testing for Windows 8 and 8.1.

Could you please give us more details about the problem?

                    Regards,

                    Roberto.

  • Hi Roberto-san,

    Thank you for your comment.

I understand that Windows 8 have their own xHCI driver.
However, I think that Microsoft would not be able to build device drivers if TI does not provide information to them.
So I thought that you may have information of the driver versions.

Currently, our customer is having trouble that sometimes TUSB7320 cannot be recognized on Windows 8 system. TUSB7320 can not be found in device manager.

When they reboot the OS, most of the time the symptom disappears.
But in some case, device can never be recognized.

Power up/down sequence are confirmed, they are meeting the required timing.

Could you please give us advice which point we should look into ?

    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Kawai

  • Hello Kawai,

Sorry for the delay, I just installed all the Win8.1 updates and I can see that the driver version is 6.3.9600.17031

Could you please confirm if this behavior is not present on  Win7 using the TI driver (v1.16.4). As you commented the power up/down sequences is ok and we would like to confirm if this problem is related to the Win 8.1 inbox driver.

    Regards,

    Roberto.
