Configure TUSB3x10 EEPROM Burner utility to utilize a serial die id

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB3410

Using TUSB3x10 EEPROM Burner utility, is it possible to configure it to utilize the serial die id number?

If customers use TI vendor ID 0450 and PID 3410, they don't need to change the inf file included in TI VCP driver's package.

So they don't need to pay for Windows driver certification. However VID/PID/Serial number combination must be unique.

If they can use the serial die id, each device should be unique.

  • Hello,

We need to verify in the application source if it support to use the die id, we'll let you know if it's possible as soon as possible.

    Regards,

    Roberto.

  • Roberto-san,

Thank you. I'll wait for your reply.

When I used Header Generator Utility, I edited a *.CFG file and changed the serial number to "TUSB3410    " and then created an image file.

I remember that TUSB3410 firmware uses the die id when the serial number is "TUSB3410    ".

I guess that this can be done if the serial number cab be set to "TUSB3410    " in the EEPROM Burner utility.

However I'm not sure whether it can be done.

  • Roberto-san,

    Do you have any update?
If it's not possible, I'll recommend the customer to use header generator utility.
