SN65DSI86: Does TI have new user guide for DSI tuner?

                Below picture is panel timing from our customer. Would you kindly provide register values of SN65DSI86 to us for  implementation?

We need some clarification and more information on this panel. Below are values required to determine your register values. For more information on some of these values please refer to section 8.4.4.6 Video Format Parameters and 9.2.1.2 Detailed Design Procedure.

What is the "TH" unit specified above?

               Innolux panel look like support 24bit color , Do you mean this spec? or I need to confirm what kind of spec?

Hello Jason,

your panel is 24 bpp the DSI86 does not support 3840 X 2160 24 bpp. The DSI86 does support 3840 X 2160 for 18bpp. can you try to turn on the color bar with 18 bpp and see if the panel works?

                If register value just only different with 24 bpp and 18 bpp. Would you kindly provide register value of SN65DSI86 to us first? Maybe we can try it on our panel  through register 0X5B to adjustment. BTW , Does SN65DSI86 can support 3840x2160 30fps 24bpp? Thanks.

                Thanks for your reply. Our REFCLK is 27Mhz. then pixel CLK is 533Mhz as below picture. I also tried to used DSI tuner to simulate our timing as below picture. Look like SN65DSI86 DSI DDR CLK just support 750MHz with 4 lanes , If I changer panel spec to support 18bpp(RGB666) for 4K2K or changer panel spec to support under 500MHz Pixel CLK and 24bpp(RGB888) then SN65DSI86 can support , right? Please kindly to clarify our confuse , Thanks.

               We have some confused about SN65DSI86  need to clarify.  For 4k2K 60Hz 24bpp innolux panel , We had tried test pattern from  DSI86 and it can normally display color bar for 24 bpp and 18 bpp on the 4k2k Innolux panel. Does test patter of DSI86 has timing by itself?  Or , Just only display port inputs can support 4k2k 24bpp 60Hz ,  but DSI input can not support 4K2K 24bpp 60HZ? BTW , Do you had used DSI86 to  turn on the 4K2K(30Hz 18bpp) panel? Would you kindly provide the register value and panel model to us? Maybe we also can try that panel with DSI86 Thanks.

                Thanks for your reply. We reference MIPI alliance specification for DSI as below picture. We just want to confirm "DSI Pixel Stream Packets" of DSI86 (datasheet page24 8.4.4.4) is work on video mode or command mode? Thanks.
