Hello,

I have a question about the TXS0108E.

There is a mention in the datasheet of TXS0108E as follows.

P14 : Note G : tPHL and tPLH are the same as tpd

But there is no parameter "tpd" in characteristics. There is only parameter "tPHL" and "tPLH".

On the other hand, there is only "tpd" in the TXB0108.

What it means the NOTE G ?

Hi Naoki,

In general, Tpd means propagation delay. The tPLH or tPHL is used to decriped rise-edge or fall-edge propagation delay.

Is it possible to compare the propagation delay with TXS0108 and TXB0108?

Hi Naoki,

Propagation delay will depend heavily on input driver. The comparison between different part is unnecessary.

Hi Wei,

Please tell me the definition of "tpd".

tpd = tPHL , tPLH or tpd = tPHL + tPLH or tpd = average of tPHL and tPLH

My customer wants to know a difference between rise-edge delay and fall-edge delay.

Hi Naoki,

For TXS0108E, tpd=tPHL=tPLH. The 'rise-edge delay' and 'fall-edge delay' can be found on page 14 in TXS0108E datasheet.

Thank you for your response.

For TXB0108, there is only "tpd" on switching characteristics in TXB0108 datasheet.

My customer think that the value of 'rise-edge delay' and 'fall-edge delay' are same.

I think that the definition is same, the value is not same. Is that right?

Hi,

In TXB0108 datasheet, Tpd time range is given which measured at test circuit. Tplh and Tphl are also in the range between Tpd_min and Tpd_max.

Please pay attention that the vaule is test under measured test circuits on the page 12 in its datasheet.
