10/100/1000 Ethernet Switch IC to Extend Ethernet Ports

Hi

In our design I have only one 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, For next revision I need total 5 Ethernet ports. How it can be achieved , Will adding Ethernet switch can extended no of ports 

1. Any IC , Ethenet switch IC which can solve this problem , Type 10/100/1000 , Reference Design , Evaluation board any?

2. Current Design had only one Ethernet port, Total port needed are 5 total.

3. In Existing design one port is 10/100/1000 Type  with inbuilt MAC in processor and PHY is external

    Kunal,

    To expand your design to 5 ports, you will need to either select a processor with a 5 port MAC built in. Another option is to use an Ethernet switch, but the bandwidth to the processor will be limited.

    TI's switches are only integrated in TI processors. We do not have a stand alone switch IC.

    If you do use a switch IC, our Ethernet PHYs have a wide range of interface choices so we will be able to work with almost all switches.

    1. Can you suggest some Processor which has 5 MAC built in . My current processor is NXP Mi6.. 1Ghz. Out of 5 Ethernet I will use survillence camera on 3 Ethernet Port, One HDMI input needed, one sound input, USB,I2C,SPI, UART
