DS100DF410: How to make a test about PRBS loopback for ds100df410.

Part Number: DS100DF410

hello!I want to make test about prbs loopback. The DS100df410 part don't care the prbs from the host. The host also don't care the prbs from the DS100df410.I just want the ds100df410 send prbs 9or31 from TX to RX alone and the  RX of ds100df410 to check..I wonder if there are bits error from TX to RX .Please see the attached pictures for the detail.

  • Hi,

To use the PRBS generator feature of the DS100DF410, you will need to lock to an incoming data rate that is equivalent to the rate at which you want to send you DS100DF410 generator output. For example, If you wish to send 10GbE PRBS-31 from one of the DS100DF410 Tx channels, you will need the same channel's Rx to lock to a 10.3125 Gbps signal coming from the Host. Once the DS100DF410 VCO is locked to this rate, the PRBS31 from the DS100DF410 will be output at the same rate (10.3125 Gbps).

Unfortunately, unlike the DS125DF1610, the DS100DF410 does not have a PRBS bit-error checker. I would recommend, if possible, to check signal integrity by enabling the Host Rx to identify and check for PRBS31 bit errors after the DS100DF410 Tx of the loopback channel.

    Thanks,

    Michael
