To use the SFD feature of the DP83867E PHY one has to configure ENHANCED_MAC_SUPPORT=1 in the Receive Configuration Register (RXFCFG). I fear the reason is that the latency will be affect as pattern matching will likely add some extra delay. Is that the case?
