TCAN1042H: Asking for advice on CAN transceiver replacement

Hi experts,

My customer is trying to replace MAX3053ESA+T with TACN1042. Do you know if there are any points we should take care of for a direct replacement?

Hope you can list one or two for me if any.

    Sheldon,

    The TCAN1042 does not have shutdown mode on pin 5 or slope control mode on pin 8, like the MAX3053 does. The TCAN1042 does a have standby mode on pin 8, which is similar to the shutdown mode on pin 5 for the maxim part, but there is no slope control on the TCAN1042.

    Typically slope control is needed to help with emissions, but the TCAN1042 was designed with the need for slope control to pass for emissions tests.'

    Is the customer okay with having the low-power mode control on pin 8 instead of pin 5?
