How can one get access to the message set required for a USB sink if unable to use the GUI?

Hi Jim,

First, you will need the GUI to generate the patch bundle that will be programmed to the PD controller either through an external SPI flash or EC. Once the patch bundle has been loaded, and the PD controller is in APP mode running the programmed configuration, you can then use the EC to write/read to specific registers within the PD controller. If your EC is not currently interacting with the PD controller, you can review the I2C requirements in the datasheet. For the data that you would like to read from the PD controller, look through the host interface technical reference manual http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvubh2b/slvubh2b.pdf
