Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0344, DS90CF386, DS90CF384, SN75LVDS82
Hello,
I was hoping I could get some assistance with a design I'm working on. I'm looking for a way to take a 3G-SDI signal and convert it to an LVCMOS parallel signal for a TFT display. My general idea is to go from a BNC to an LMH0344 equalizer, then to an LMH0341 and take its LVDS pairs to a DS90CF386. Unfortunately, despite working in the broadcast industry, I am only a technician and not an engineer, and thus there is a lot that is over my head, but I'm trying to further my knowledge to make this work.
I realize the LMH0341 is designed to work with an FPGA, but my question is can I make this design work without one, and what sort of timing requirements would I need for the DS90CF384 (assuming my assumption that this setup can work at all is accurate)?
Also, would it be easier/better/more feasible to use an SN75LVDS82 instead of the DS90CF386?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. I also apologize for my ignorance.
